I meet with high-school seniors and their parents before the session to plan ideas and talk through locations. Michael knew he wanted to bring his trombone but also had some flexibility, which allowed us to choose a fun mix of urban and natural spots. That combination gave him the perfect balance for his senior session. It was a hot day, but we had a great time!
Staplin Performing Arts Center
The PAC in Valley High School is a fun spot to photograph musicans and performers. I always love it when seniors select this spot!
Historic East Village
The East Village is a great downtown Des Moines location. It’s easy to get a mix of modern Architecture, store fronts, and urban alleys all in close proximity. Michael brought a great mix of outfits. He looks perfect wearing a blazerwith the State Capitol Building in the background!
Urban Alleys
This alley provided a nice contrast to the storefronts. I love adore props – in this case an instrument- in senior sessions. For even more fun, Michael wore his fun trombone shirt for a few – love this!
Grays Lake Park
Our next stop was for greenery and an amazing bridge. Gray’s lake offers great outdoor options, allowing us to get lots of variety in a close proximity.
