You don’t have to be a professional photographer to take great photos. Here are a few tips to get you started.
1. Make Sure Your Subjects is Photo-Ready
Keep appearances neat and professional.

Remove Glasses
- Remove sunglasses so eyes are visible
2. Angle the Pose
Have your subject stand at a slight angle, not straight on.
Try both sides to get more options.
3. Hands
Give your subject something to do with their hands
Option 1: Fold Arms
Option 2: Hands in Pockets
Option 3: Hold Something
Option 4: Stand behind object
Combine: (behind + hold)
4. Take More Options
Taking more than one pose of your subject gives you more opportunity for success.
2. Pose Groups in the same way.
All of the same rules apply to groups. Stand at an angle, hands in pockets, arms crossed, try more than one pose, hold objects.
